My infographic is about the current California wildfires. It' s a fairly straight forward graphic that presents facts and figures about the fires, as well as a map showing the fires still active, set against a backdrop of a fire detail. The stats are all up to date as of 11pm last night.

My info graphic is meant to represent the distribution of crime rates in major cities across the U.S. I found an article from The Philadelphia Inquirer about Philadelphia murder rates rising and being the top rate in the country. Along with murder, the statistics included other crimes, which makes my graphic about overall crime, not just murder. The link to the article and information I used is: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/homepage/20070605_Phila__leads

My infographic shows the graduation rates in New York City in 2006. It is broken down by race: African American, Latino, Asian, and white. I took the idea of graduation to create a graph showing the difference in percentage of each race. This gives the viewer an idea of the difference in how many students graduate from high school and maybe think about the factors behind this percentage.

In my information graphic I choose to cover the ongoing, friendly, yet competitive, rivalry between rap and hip-hop artist Kanye West and 50 Cent. In late August, rapper 50 Cent publicly challenged Kanye West to a “sell-off” to see who could generate more album sales in their first week of release Both artist released albums on September 11, 2007. Now here it is six weeks later and not only has Kanye beaten 50 Cent, his album sales continue to grow in numbers. Currently Kanye is on his way to certified double-platinum, while 50 Cent has just passed platinum status.
The overall goal of the info-graph is to exhibit the outcome of the challenge that 50 Cent posed to Kanye West over six weeks ago before their albums were released.

Connor's Infographic

I chose to make an infographic depicting the prices of hot dogs at some of major league baseball's most famous ball parks.
As you can see, through the use of a hot dog based scale system, I show the actual price of the hot dogs at a stadium. The longer the strand of hot dogs, the more expensive the cost. With a baseball field as the background, it brings the whole baseball idea full circle.

Each year Philadelphia Magazine does alot of research and produces a special report called the Best of Philly. It basically has a bunch of categories including food, fashion, entertainment, etc. My Info graphic was based on some of their Best of Philly 2007 findings.

Cristina's Infographic- Stuff Magazine Article: "The Scariest Movie Ever Made"

I used an article from stuffmagazine.com about the top 30 scariest movies ever made. Using the top five scariest movies, I illustrated which was the scariest from least to most scary (according to Stuff Magazine.) Then I found other comparative information like what year the movie was released, how much it grossed and how many Academy Awards (if any) each particular movie won. You can view the whole article here.

My infographic shows some of the buildings that have pink lights up for breast cancer awareness month this October. It is meant to display what the lights look like on the main buildings involved, as well as to raise awareness of this event. It shows the buildings of most interest with the most interesting lights, as well as the fountain and boathouse row.

I wanted to convey how much the loss of this running back hurt his football team. The simplest, and most effective, way to do this was through a table. Sports fans are good with statistics and this comparison gets my message across. The two pictures of the running back in action and in sweats bring the table to life, the short description clarifies, and the catchy headline works. All the stats are real, from a running back at Upper Darby High, my alumni.

This shows the statistics for the top 5 plastic surgery procedures in 2006. I used an image of Michael Jackson because he is one of the most famous faces in the world of plastic surgery. I also used images of lipsticks because while lip augmentation is not one of the top 5 procedures, it is still very common.

my infographic is a picture of an electric guitar. i labeled all of the parts of the guitar. this infographic will help beginner guitar players become familiar with their guitar and the names of all its parts. this infographic would work well as the first page in a book on how to play the electric guitar.
